Grief-induced stress can manifest as physical symptoms such as sleep disruption, headaches, and tightness in the jaw, neck, and shoulders. Grief can be physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting, and can leave people feeling stuck inside their heads and hearts, disconnected from their physical body. It can feel particularly intense during the first year (or longer) following a loss, and around marker days such as anniversaries and holidays. Viveca Massage provides a safe and nurturing environment for grief support offered through gentle therapeutic massage.

Tanya Thomlinson is an experienced Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with a particular focus on supporting patients experiencing grief and loss. She has taken specialized courses in grief theory, the grieving process, and the effects of grief stress on the physical body. Tanya has also been trained in intraoral Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) massage and Gentle Scar Therapy.
